Grandma Lois visits!

While Jaime and I were busy traveling around the country for academic conferences in early November, Grandma Lois came to the rescue to help us out with Mack!

Happy Halloween everyone! Here's a few photos of Mackenzie, who's still trying to figure out this holiday.

Fall Color

This was our driveway a week ago. Now, the leafpocalypse has already begun... so much for all the colorful leaves. Now we're wading through drifts of fallen leaves.

First Hair Cut

Mack had her first hair cut today. We took her to Cartoon Cuts, child hair cut specialists. They have TVs, video games, and toys to distract even the most sensitive kids. Mack did well as long as she was in Mom's lap, had a toy, and the TV going.

Garden Gnome

After an exhaustive search for a funny costume, we dressed Mack up as a garden gnome. She paraded her costume around the Air and Space Museum Halloween event yesterday and ran into a few friends. Jamie dressed as an olympian and Luca was a dinosaur. The kids were super cute! See you yourself.

Inside the Writer's Studio

As you can see here, Mack has wasted no time getting started on her first literary masterpiece. Either that, or she's already obsessively checking email. I wonder where that bad habit came from? "I learned it from watching you, Daddy!"

Flower Girl

Some of you may know that Mackenze was recently a flower girl at the wedding of our childcare provider, Pandita. Here are some pics of the day. Mack decided that she wasn't ready for primetime (she decided against going down the aisle), but she was definitely up for some pictures.

Mackenzie just had her 18 month check up and round of vaccinations. Here's the breakdown for those of you interested in numbers and comparisons:

Height: 32.25 inches

Weight: 21 lbs 11oz's

Weight percentile: 12%

Height percentile: 70%

Summary: Mack remains tall and thin. Clearly not taking those traits from Daddy.

Taryn came to visit us in July. Not only was this her first trip to DC, she also had her first trip alone on an airplane. We took her to all the DC sites and a Jonas Brothers concert.

Water Fountain

Near our home is a water fountain that shoots out of the concrete floor. Kids gather there to enjoy the water in the warm sun. Mack needed a little help, but she loved watching the kids and getting wet. She also seemed to enjoy getting Craig wet.
